Our Story

A story that comes from afar

De Meio Real Estate isn't just a real estate agency specializing in the Dolomites; it's a family story, rooted in the 1940s in the Cadore mountains. A history built on a commitment to construction and a deep understanding of the local area.

A story spanning three generations that still guides our approach today: with expertise, professionalism, and attention to customer needs.

The roots

It all begins with Ugo De Meio Barnabò, born in Lozzo di Cadore (BL) in 1921.

In the early 1940s, Ugo obtained a diploma in surveying from the Dante Alighieri Institute in Vittorio Veneto and began a long career as a freelancer, dedicating himself mainly to the financial side and the management of the then very flourishing Cadore timber market, enrolling in the College of Surveyors of Belluno with number 75.

Expertise, vision, territory

Over the course of his career, Ugo developed a deep and transversal expertise, strongly linked to the mountain environment.

In the early years, he specialized in forest appraisals, following the timber from valuation to its use in construction. Over time, he expanded his scope to include infrastructure projects, such as roads and timber transportation systems in remote areas, and finally to civil, residential, and industrial construction. In recent years, appraisals have become central: appraisal and division of public and private properties and building areas. A solid professionalism, based on experience, balance, and a thorough understanding of the local area.

Continuity:

The study and the second generation

In the 1980s Ugo retired from the business, leaving the firm to his youngest son, Roberto De Meio, also a freelance surveyor.

Roberto continues his career with a more operational and contemporary approach, handling the design and construction management of civil, residential, and industrial projects, following the entire technical process up to the delivery of the properties, in collaboration with other professionals and real estate agencies.

The activity is carried out over a large area that includes Centro Cadore, Oltrepiave, Auronzo, Misurina, Comelico, Val Boite and San Vito di Cadore, with interventions also in the Ampezzo Valley.

Growing in construction

It is in this context that Daniele De Meio grew up, immersed in the world of construction from an early age.

On the one hand, the experience gained alongside his father Roberto, including construction sites, projects, and daily interaction with technicians and companies. On the other, the work of his mother, Barbara Del Favero, owner of a building materials and transportation warehouse built by her father, Roberto Del Favero, in the 1950s, a point of reference for local professionals and businesses.

Two different yet complementary realities: the construction site and the project on one hand, and the materials, selection, and quality on the other. This experience has allowed Daniele to develop a comprehensive vision of construction, observing it from both sides since childhood.

The birth

by De Meio Real Estate

From this journey, De Meio Real Estate was born: not as a simple evolution, but as a natural synthesis of technical expertise, local knowledge, and a focus on people. A project that brings the legacy of over seventy years of construction to the real estate world, combined with a modern vision focused on consultancy, transparency, and trust.
